  21. WHAT IS ACHA?
  22. (pronounced Ah-Sha, portuguese for 'find')
  23.  
  24. Acha was developed to provide lightning speed access to
  25. miscellaneous information. One of the original uses for Acha
  26. was saving code snippets and being able to recall them for 
  27. later use in projects.
  28.  
  29. As Acha was used more, there was a natural tendency to start
  30. putting other types of infomation in it. For example, the
  31. name and telephone number of another person. Or the server
  32. name, login name, and password of a network server a user
  33. needed once-in-a-while.
  34.  
  35. It turns out that Acha is great for entering and retrieving 
  36. names of people, www addresses, email messages, telephone
  37. numbers, addresses, product serial numbers, product
  38. information, pictures and sound (registered version only),
  39. and really anything else that you'd like to recall at a
  40. later time.

  42. Acha is a fast and easy to use tool that organizes all kinds
  43. of information that can be instantly recalled.

  60. ACHA SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  62. Acha requires the following:
  63.  
  64. - An IBM PC or compatible that meets the minimum hardware
  65.   requirements of Microsoft Windows 3.1.
  66. - About 600K of hard-drive space.
  67. - Borland Database Engine (see the important message at the 
  68.   very top of this readme file).

  80. INSTALLING ACHA
  81.  
  82. To install the shareware copy of Acha, just do the
  83. following:
  84.  
  85. 1. Unzip ACHA.ZIP into a directory such as C:\ACHA.
  86.  
  87. 2. Create an icon in Program Manager, and make sure the
  88.    Working Directory is C:\ACHA (or the directory where you
  89.    installed Acha).
  90.  
  91. NOTE 1: Acha will not run if the database files are on a
  92.         network. They must be on a local drive.
  93.  
  94. NOTE 2: Acha requires the Borland Database Engine. If the
  95.         engine is not installed, and you do not have access
  96.         to it, please contact G'Vosay
  97.         (76065.233@compuserve.com) and we will be happy to
  98.         email it to you at no charge.

  101. STARTING ACHA
  102.  
  103. Make sure the Working Directory is the directory where your
  104. database files are located. Double-click the icon you
  105. created in Program Manager to start the program. Click the
  106. New button to add your first entry.

  109. ENHANCEMENTS SINCE ACHA 2.5
  110.  
  111. The following enhancments have been made to Acha (note that
  112. sound and pictures apply only to the registered version):
  113. - Customize the font in the information box.
  114. - Turn word wrap on and off in the information box.
  115. - Vertical scroll bar added to information box.
  116. - Program state is saved between sessions, including the
  117.   last entry you were working on.
  118. - The sound and pictures can now be added via the menu.
  119. - The following hot keys have been added:
  120.   
  121.   Ctrl+F   Change the font
  122.   Ctrl+W   Toggle word wrap
  123.   Ctrl+S   Play the sound
  124.   Ctrl+P   Show the full picture

  131. This package is the shareware copy of Acha. It is
  132. copyrighted by G'Vosay and Damon Janis. It is not in the
  133. public domain and it is not freeware. The entire shareware 
  134. package may be freely distributed, as long as the original
  135. files are maintained in their original form.
